Plus this will then be a helpful resource to go back to later on if I ever want to refer to a book in any of my content.įor any key take-aways or ideas that I have while I might be out walking while listening to an audiobook, I normally send myself an email with the idea so I don’t forget it at the time. I’m hoping that creating the summary will help me solidify some of the ideas from the book in my brain. I find this tricky! That’s why I’m planning on writing book summaries for each book I’ve enjoyed and finished this year. How do I keep track of everything I’ve read - e.g. This isn’t for everyone - my husband can’t stand how the faster reading sounds and thinks I’m mad!!! 🤣 I started at listening around 1.3x speed but over the years this has moved faster and faster as my brain has got used to it. It has taken me some time to build up to the 1.7-1.9x speed. This helps me get through more books (plus my brain moves faster than the speed that most books are read at, which I find really frustrating otherwise) When I listen to audiobooks I do this at 1.7-1.9x speed. Here are a few things people often ask me about my reading. Reading tips and FAQs I get asked about my reading
MY READING LIST FULL
I’ll likely keep track of this in my book library database on Notion (see image below for how this looks).īy the way, you can get access to my book library in my Full Notion Productivity System template. If I feel like it I might make a short summary of the books I’ve enjoyed and any key takeaways from them. If I’m not enjoying the book I won’t keep reading it - life is too short to read books I don’t like! I will be listing out more books as the year progresses - so keep coming back if you want to see what I add later on! Some books on the list are things I’ve read before and want to read again, some are classics and some have been on my list for a while but I’ve never got around to reading (or read many years ago and want to re-read). The list is therefore subject to change throughout the year 🙂 I’m not tied to any book and will be flexible about it changing. My guess is many of them will be on audible as I can listen to a book much, much faster than I read it myself and as I walk for an hour each day this is a great time to listen to audiobooks.Įach book will be confirmed the week of reading it (depending on whether I feel like that book or if something else has been recommended or I’m interested in that week).

I might read the book on my kindle, read the hard cover (IRL!) book or listen on audible - I consider both of these to be reading (although I am trying to prioritise reading physical/kindle books this year as much as possible). Start a new book each Monday and finish it by Sunday. This was inspired by Lex Fridman who I saw doing the same thing. I’ve put together a list of books I want to read in 2023, to give some focus to my reading. USE THIS LINK TO ACCESS MY 2023 READING LIST You can find my 2023 reading list via this link, which takes you to my Notion template page (more on that below). OK - so here’s my reading list for 2023 :) So if you’ve got a great book that you’ve read please DM over on Instagram and let me know what that is so I can take a look! I’m also always looking for recommendations for my next read. Your list doesn’t have to have books like this on it - choose the genre of books that you enjoy - it’s the habit of reading that we are building here! :) But I have also had a few classics that I read when I was younger and would be interested in revisiting as well. Learning from books has been one of my massive secrets to success over the years.Īs you’ll see on the list most of the books are non-fiction business or ‘self help’ type books as I generally enjoy these the most. You don’t need to read a book a week, but you may decide to use this as inspiration to plan out a book that you want to read each month this year (for example). Secondly, I hope that by sharing my reading list, I can inspire you to do something similar this year. I’ve got a huge list of unread books in my kindle app, audible app and on my bookshelves and I’m hoping that setting a goal for my reading will help me start to work through my long list of unread books.Īnd in this post I want to share my 2023 book/reading list with you, which I’ve decided to make public for a few reasons.įirstly, I want to keep myself accountable to my reading goals and by sharing my list with you I am more likely to stick to my plan and complete the books that I have set out to read. I’ve made a goal to read one book per week in 2023.
